About the Olympia Reign: The Olympia Reign has been working on building a fan base, sponsorship base and general support since March of 2008 when Mark Felton committed to joining the IBL; in 2008, the Olympia Reign played 2 IBL games (both official games, one away game in Bellingham and one home game in Olympia); these 2 games were official IBL games, both losses, but in the second game (the home game), the Olympia Reign drew a very active and enthusiastic 700 fans! This was a strong indication of good things to come for Olympia. In this following year 2010 (the second building year for Olympia, called a ‘branding year’ by the league), the Olympia Reign played two home games. Those first two years for the Olympia Reign were called ‘branding years’- a chance for the team to build a brand and learn the industry in a slow and responsible manner; that being said, today- February 18th, 2010 the IBL officially announces Olympia as a ‘full 20 game, full season team’. This is exciting news for Olympia as the Reign now will compete to win their division, place players in the All Star game, etc. just like every other full member of the league.
