The International Basketball League is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Boyce as the Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations for the new Southern Illinois Truth basketball team. Coach Boyce brings over 30 years of national and international coaching experience in a variety of sports to the league. In addition to coaching basketball, Mr. Boyce has also been active in coaching track and field for the USA Deaf Track and Field Association around the nation as well as in Europe and Cuba.

Several years ago, Coach Boyce helped to organize a bone marrow donation drive in the St. Louis area to assist one of his basketball players, Tyrone Williford, who had been stricken with leukemia. Throughout the years, Coach Boyce has received numerous awards and recognition, most notably, the Emerson Electric Excellence in Teaching Award, and was named in 1999, to the All-USA Teacher Team by USA Today for his work in basketball. For many years, he has also been an honorary recruiter for the US Air Force.

Joining Coach Boyce to assist with coaching duties will be Mr. Jim Hayes and Mr. Palmer Alexander. Mr. Hayes is a life-long educator and former Missouri sports official and Mr. Alexander is currently a sports commentator and reporter in the St. Louis area.
