2008 Volcanoes season review

2008 Vancouver Volcanoes (final record 18-7) - For Volcanoes individual player statistics, scroll to the bottom of this page. After struggling for wins during their first three seasons, this Volcanoes squad emerged as one of the league's best winning more games in 2008 than the first three years combined. Vancouver ran off ten straight wins early in the '08 season, and will definitely be a title contender for years to come under new owner Bryan Hunter. The Volcanoes followed thier first round bye in the west tournament by beating Central Oregon and then went on to lose to Bellingham in the west final. Six Volcanoes are already playing overseas with a few more players to go as well. Head coach Theo Evans was hired in late June by a Romaniam team and is in Romania with two time All Star Porter Troupe and combo guard Josh Jackson (finished the IBL-USBA camp rated #1 out of 90 players). Evans is the youngest coach in Division 1 Europe. July 20th, 2008: News Release- IBL names 2008 All Stars - Porter Troup, Kevin Tyner, and Jake Carlisle
